Eh it's a weird position you placed her, also she's not giving eye contact to her son but more the space where the word bubble is? It's kinda weird. Also the panel you did is much smaller the other so it gives it a more cramped feeling. The way the mom is turned is making the panel feel cramped as well. Good job trying to give it more detail but I think you could of gone with a better pose.
I think this is perfectly fine as a study of Mr. Crumbs work to move on towards your own style. But it will never be the equivalent of the original. Other than that this is how 50% of the academic arts world goes about business. If he hypes himself postures like a child on a toilet trainer (the 1000 yard stare)creates a marketable vehical and everybody can sub market profitably (build a shrine in the desert, sell de-balled bobbing dolls to culture tourists)
*shudder* lol awesome job James!
ReplyDeletehahahah Great work James!
ReplyDeleteGreat job with the art!
ReplyDeleteIs that any less creepy in context?
It's a LOT worse in context
ReplyDeleteCrumb's original can't be improved.

ReplyDeleteAn ugly travesty. You should be ashamed.
